The Quietline pulley is 4.25 inches. The earlier pulley is 5 inches. If yours is 4.25 then you would have to come up with a custom pulley to speed it up. Doing so would be at your own risk as the decks weren’t engineered for that.

OK, here is the data. I am using two (2) constants. (A) Mower Blade length for the 44" deck of 15.12" (or 1.26'), and (B) 3600 RPM's.
Using the 4.50" PTO Diameter for the Quietline Tractors, the RPM's at the deck is the following: IH-59703-C2 Pulley 5.000" OD = 3240 RPM's IH-126393-C1 Pulley 4.375" OD = 3703 RPM's D x 3.14 x RPM's = Blade Tip Speed (Note: D is in Feet, and 3.14 is Pi) Thus, 15.12" (or 1.26') x PI = 3.956 3240 RPM's x 3.956 = 12817 Tip Speed 3703 RPM's x 3.956 = 14649 Tip Speed Maximum OSHA Tip Speed is 19000 IF............you wanted, and could find or Fabricate........ the center pulley could be reduced in your application to 3.375" and still fall under the OSHA Standard, based on a 3600 RPM Engine Speed. Hope this helps.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
