I came across this image while surfing the internet and could not help but notice a possible family resemblance. Could this be a long lost relative?

Oh, and good luck with the 122, one of my favorites!
No relation... haha

I'm currently rebuilding a 50" deck for my 126 and will post pics if I ever finish it. Haha
So I attempted this today. I can’t get it to mount up. The back part of the hanger that goes up to the cross bar doesn’t fit because it has two pieces of metal welded on so it’s wider. So I thought I’d switch out the swivel part that has the forks that go to the front of the deck with the 122 one and now after an hours long struggle I got the deck mounted, but it won’t lift. At the highest point the deck is still on the ground. At the lowest it is pushing down on the deck, and that’s at about half way down. There isn’t much room to travel up and down.

That's strange sorner. We didn't encounter this issue. I'll ask my buddy to take some pictures of his setup.

My buddy did remind me that he had to grind the lever arm a bit to fit onto the cross bar.

Thanks Matt, that lever arm is the issue. Grinding it would help.

I ground about 1/2" into that arm, and now it fits and goes up and down pretty good. But now my belt doesn't fit, and neither does the one off the 128.. Both are too short. Did you have to use a different size belt?

Hey Sorner,

He didn't, but who knows if his belt was the size cub listed in the first place. He bought the 104 recently, and is more of a Wheel Horse guy.

I'm a bit surprised, because the pulley should be more or less in the same spot. Should be easy enough to rectify though. Good luck and post some pics when you get it sorted.

Thanks Matt. The pulley on the 44C is a little bigger around I think than the 48" deck. The belt probably only needs to be about 1-2" longer than what I have to fit right. I have three here, the one that came off the 128, and the one from the 122, and an extra one that came with the 122 that the guy wasn't sure if it was the deck or pto belt, and none of them fit.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
