So hopefully nothing wrong with it that a through cleaning won't fix. It looked clean inside the bowl and throat but it's obviously been sitting... The engine it was on is a 321A if that matters... The p/n stamped on the carb is A-237771 Is that an oem cadet or kohler p/n? putting that part # to amazon gave me this which does look the same minus having a p/n stamped on the body. https://www.amazon.com/CARBURETOR-F-.../dp/B01M62O80S Carb (129)1.jpg Carb (129).jpg |

Cleaned it up yesterday enough (to take apart) to properly clean and rebuild it later...
And with more cleaning, more p/n were revealed -- C-275369 cast into the body From this thread https://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/...ead.php?t=5107 I've determined that it is indeed an oem Carter carb for a K321A Carb (129)2.jpg It's interesting to compare the differences between this one and my chinese copy. The brass bits are all a bit more refined on the oem, and the fuel bowl and float are thicker, so more durable... Of course, it would take a machinist's kit to measure how closely the jets and passageways actually match between the clone and the oem... |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
