El Cheapo's wife says "El Cheapo, can I have $119 to give Amazon for a Prime Subscription to buy Christmas presents with free shipping?

El Cheapo replies "Sure babe, here ya go" and gives her $119.

Christmas passes and El Cheapo's wife says "El Cheapo, I need $795 to pay Amazon for the Christmas presents.

El Cheapo laughs and says "Babe you only asked me to pay for the shipping. The rest is your problem". He then shuffles out to the garage to indulge himself in his fleet of Cub Cadets.

True story, you can look it up!

It is quite spendy.... But, damned, this is the best thing that fits in the oversized hole than all the other skinny switches. The IH part number on Cub Cadet matches this aftermarket switch..... Without the "IH".

I appreciate the thoughts and the efforts some of you guys for finding cheaper alternative switches. I haven't decided if I going to pull the switch (trigger) on that 62801-DC.

Can you change the knobs once you get the new one? Not sure if this is a restoration your doing and looking for it to be like factory.

I pulled the trigger and bought that push-pull ignition switch on eBay! It cost some extra $$$ but it is worth it and I'm happy!

Light Switch Assembly 2.jpg
Old left, New right!

Ignition light switch 1.jpg
Old switch-dinky stem, poor fit and prone to failure! Had it apart two-three times! New switch beefy stem....fits better on the tractor. It feels right. It looks right. I hope it works right for a long time!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
