YUP, as long as you have the correct parts.

Gubber-mint said so!
After a the mower deck is shut off,
it has so many seconds to stop rotating, so when a dummy puts any part of his body in it to see if it is turning, is not posa mangle it.
That's why we have those stupid levers on hand mowers that have to be held down while mowing.
Sorta like those signs on motor home cruise control switches.
Warning:
this is not an auto pilot, do not leave the drivers seat to make dinner/potty break while engaged.

From what I can see, that PTO assembly doesn’t look cobbled together. It looks correct to me. Not sure where the noise is coming from. Perhaps it’s not disengaging properly but can’t tell that from pictures.

In the diagram PTO with brake doesn't have the 3 pronged thing in there.
I'm off in a couple days and am going to take the PTO apart.

You have the B style with brake, what do you mean about the 3 pronged thingy?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
