Then I will add that to the reasons I don't care for that series.

Check out seat adjusting and take note of seat plate.
The parts diagram is incorrect then. It shows it the same as the wide frames. The bumpers for the WF are still available, but not for the NF. Maybe I'll get the WF bumpers and flip my pans over.

I ordered 4 new ones for my 149 and 1200. They were smashed and beyond usable in less than a season. I won't buy them again. I've heard that door frame bumpers from late model F150s will work. PN W7059035300.

I'm going to try those out.

On my 108 I used the rubber bumpers for a fuel door on a Chevy truck, been in the 4yrs and they're still good.

On the 1200 that I just overhauled the engine for, it came with the springs but no seat. Just to get the tractor mobile for now I adapted one that I had laying in the rafters to it that came from a different brand of machine. This seat has a single bolt hole for its mount, I took a scrap 1/4" aluminum plate and cut it down, then drilled it to match the bolt pattern of the 1200's springs, and a hole in the center for the seat. Works for now til I can find something better and didn't modify the machine at all in the process... I will definitely be looking for a new seat that looks more like it belongs there at the shows and swaps this summer. But for now at least this machine is usable.

If you want a direct bolt on, you'll need to get a Cub Cadet seat with 8x11 bolt patterns. Most seats use smaller hole patterns, or a single like you have.

I used some 2" metal stock and bolted it to the seat, drilled holes for the front to bolt into the spring. The rear spacing wouldn't allow me to bolt it to the spring (without drilling new holes), so I just put it under and tightened it up so it pulled the seat onto the springs using tension. Seems to be holding up great. If I had a full 8x11 sheet, I could have just bolted everything right up, similar to what you did.

If you want a new seat, these are about your only option for direct fit. But, as you found out, it's not hard to modify a seat to fit, without drilling into the springs.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
