The actuator is a Duff-Norton MPD6505-01. It is a 12 volt actuator with 3 inch stroke and 500 pound capacity.

OK this is probably going to be a stupid question to those of you in the know, but will a 24 volt actuator work with a 12 volt system, such as will it just simply work at half speed? Just curious, there are a bunch of linear actuators in Ebay but most seem to be 24 volt.

Thanks in advance

I doubt if it would even work, if it did the motor probably wouldn't last very long.

It would probably work, but would have half the power as well as half the speed.

It's hard for me to tell, does this actuator move the main lift lever or is this only for the rear lift? I'd like to make the same thing and want to do this for a blade up front. Looks great and think I could use this idea for my idea

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
