Buy a small cooler that holds 6 cans or beverages at the cooler section of your local Wal-Mart (or whatever store), adjust the strap to go around the seat so that it fits to the tunnel cover (your 123 is not a gear drive so no problem and it's one of the finest cubs that IH ever made!!!). Then fill it full of ice and whatever beverage you choose, zip it up until needed! That solution should cost you around $6-$8, will keep your drink cool and grass free!

There are some great adhesives available these days. That or rare earth magnets. As for me, I don't care for all the debris in the air landing on my drink can (soda or pop for ya'll north of the Mason Dixon Line), therefore I don't carry a beverage with me to mow the yard.

Some good idea guys. I'm going to have to do some more brainstorming with existing bolts(maybe build off of the seat). Although I do enjoy an adult beverage or two. This instance really was coffee that was my magnets demise. Nothing beats a cup of joe and some seat time in my 123. Until 42" of coffee killing blades busts my mug and that sweet coffee is spilt.

I can envision some metallic round or square tubing. Attach it to a 3 point or sleeve hitch. Which then arms up and around to the front of the operator with attachment points for cup holders, a spot for your smokes if you desire, go pro attachment, sun screen holder, Solar powdered beer can cooler, scotch and water holder, and maybe hooks to hold a sweat shirt and or hat....

Simple cure, get one of these seat covers and put your drink in the pouch on the back like I do.

Speaking of drilling holes for a cup holder. The OP of this 1882 screwed his cup holder to the fender. Yep screwed it through the fender and into the gas tank.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
