Looking good! How much clearance do you have between hydraulic lines( from pump to steering valve) for the driveshaft? Are you going with solid engine mounts?

BTW, Merk is a great guy!

Thanks, I had the driveshaft in when I routed the lines so I made sure I have plenty of clearance. I will be using new ISO mount rubbers to mount the engine. No solid mounts for the 16 hp shaker for me.

Yes Merk is a great guy, we had a good discussion about our cubs.

Good work Tom.
That power steering I would think will be a great addition to the loader tractor...

Thanks guys. The first time I used the loader I decided I wanted power steering. It will be a great addition. The best thing is if I decide to put the loader on a 782 I have it can be moved right over as the column length is the same and I saved all of the stock lines and parts from the 1650 so it could be switched back. Gotta stop thinking of more projects and finish the ones I have started.

As much as I want to get into more CC projects the wife informed me that when the loader and 1872 rebuild are finished the 57 Chevy project will be next to get finished before I start on any others. I was supposed to have the 57 done for the TriFive nationals this year that celebrates the 57 being 60 years old and that ain't going to happen since I got sidetracked by the cubs.

Yeah, BUT from your build thread of the 57 over on TriFive, you came a LONG way with it from it's humble beginnings.

Well I finished up the power steering upgrade along with a different driveshaft and rag joints, new ISO mounts and snubbers. cradle mod and replacing missing bolts brackets etc. I must say it made quite a difference in the tractor. It really quieted it down and it runs and drives very well. I loaded up the bucket on the loader with some dirt and it steers very easy loaded. I am very satisfied with the steering upgrade and the best part is if I decide to swap the loader over to a 782 I have it will be a bolt on swap and I can convert the 1650 back to stock in a couple of hours. The only thing left to do is some repairs to the loader where a previous owner did some very poor repairs and welding.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
