Drill them out and install the correct rubber grommet Ronnie, and replace that dash decal

Looks like to me, the grommet will cover the lower one and a new decal will hide the other one.

![]() Got it out. Drilled the 2 rivets and it fell out. Installed a new grommet in the dash, and now just have to put the steering column back in. |

Now I need a clip. I have it marked in red. Where can I get some?
![]() OK, No answers? I got 2 of the retainer rings on the way from CCS, and a new thrust washer and washers. We will see if that makes this old girl seem like it has power steering. I just don't believe it? AND, Thanks to Todd for the picture. I have looked at them many times messing with this steering column mess. |

Do you have the plastic ball bearing holders or are the bearing cups just stuffed full of ball bearings?

What's wrong with your snap rings Ronnie?
Why don't you post pics of your parts instead of using Todd's pics? |

1.There were two of those plastic holders there. Can't I remove them, and just use the bearing cups? The plastic is old and worn. 2.I only have one, and need two. 3.Todd's picture is much better than any I have. And I did give Todd credit for his wonderful clear picture Johnathon. ![]()

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
