I didn't know they were ever offered with the K series in them....
Either way, the OP linked to the parts pic, asked if the coil was under the engine tins, and stated he doesn't see the round one on the outside, so I think it's safe to assume that he has the Mag 12 in his tractor. OP: When you get the engine out, take the rear engine tin off and see if the wire is grounded under the tins. It does happen. |

Just My 2 Cents, but I hate 2 stroke Detroit's. I speak from experience, I owned 6V53N's, 6-71's, 6-71T's, 8V71's, 6V92T's and the worst a 6-110. Give me a Cat or a Cummins any day.

Here she is. This is a Equitech B-320 aircraft tow tractor. I buy/sell and refurbish all kinds of aircraft ground support equipment. This particular tractor weighs 40,000 pounds and will push a pull an aircraft weighing up to 320,000 pounds. All wheel drive planetary axles driven by a funk transmission behind Detroit 4-53.
The heaviest tractor we work with weighs 120,000 pounds and will move a million pound aircraft such as a 747. More pictures to follow as we are getting ready to pull the motor now ![]() ![]()

Add some chains and a 8 foot plow. Would be the neatest snow removal toy in the neighborhood. Have to move the seat up above the engine.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
