I'll try to post pics later, but I got the bugger off. The little nub on the back that he fly wheel pin goes into was cracked. I'm breathing a lot better now.

As stated above, antisieze is your friend. Gotta do it with dissimilar metals, makes life a lot easier later for you or someone else. Glad you got it off.

Did you install it on the dowel on the flywheel? Did you seat it all the way down before tightening the nut? This is another part that should have NO paint on it, and antiseize on it.

The dowel had no paint on it and it just slid on and off because of the cracks in the cup. There was no anti-seize because of all the play and it wasn't a tight fit.

You didn't notice that before you put it on?

Depending on where the cracks are, it may be fine. When I was working out at my bro's this last week I had the hub off his 126. It was cracked at the dowel, but not on the power side. I put it back on.

Yea, I don't feel bad about messing it up anymore. I think if I would have hooked onto a plow or was really lugging it, it would have snapped.

No, it wouldn't have.

I'd run it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
