Ha. I think my next IH purchase will be an S or B series pickup in the coming year or two.

Here are some more pictures that I took the other day. It has a 42-inch mower deck. I think it looks pretty good for being 45-plus years old. I'll take any advice you have about the maintenance I should do once I get it. It was used on a regular basis until this year.

Man, that's a clean unit.
The dash tin looks to be in very good condition, as well as the rest of the tractor. Geat buy right there.

Thanks! It's a lot of fun right now. Unfortunately it's been so dry in Connecticut that the lawn does not need to be mowed, so it'll be another week before I can use it in the yard.

One question I do have is the light switch. If you look at the second photo, the switch has been moved to where the cigarette lighter is. However, I would like to move it to its original spot, which I was told is on the left side (in the first photo) under the hood latch. Does it go in the hole that already is there (upper right)? Was there any sticker? Does it go up and down, or left and right? I just would like to make this as original as possible. I would be appreciative if someone could take a photo of their 105 (or comparable) and show how it is supposed to look.

Brian

The switch goes in the hole that's already there (Under where it says 105). I'm not at home so I cannot send you a picture of my 125...but the original style switch is a push-pull type. I'll include a picture. There is no label that goes with it to identify it as "lights". If you go to this link, you can scroll about halfway down and pick up a used one they have for sale, part number IH 362818 R91.

I said I'd get you a picture, so here ya go! The way it's wired (I'm sure it's all original and correct) is the lights will turn on regardless if the tractor (or key) is on or off.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
