I got lucky for sure. The guy didn't give it away though...

Got the lights figured out. I need two new headlights, repair the seat, repair a hydraulic leak and the rest is cosmetic.

Got pics of your 169?

Thanks again guys!

Well, got the tail lights working at about 11:00pm last night.

Now for the headlights. One has a broken connector and I'm not sure it's repairable. Maybe solder it?

Does anybody know what this lever on the tunnel cover does? I don't see where it attaches to anything...

That lever depresses the release buttons on the hydro so you can roll the tractor when it isn't running.

Thanks Matt. I'm not knowledgeable in regards to hydros. What does depressing the buttons do? A relief valve of some sort?

Also, the lever doesn't engage the buttons. It free spins. There is a clip with a pin through it on the bottom of the pan. The clip looks broken.

Yes, they are relief valves. If you roll the tractor too far and/or too fast without depressing them, it wrecks the motor part of the hydro unit. There's supposed to be a metal tab that presses down on the relief valve buttons:

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
