Honestly It's probably just the clutch plates slipping, but I'm kind of in denial because I live in Canada and it'll take months to find parts and get them shipped here so I'm trying to rule everything else out first lol
The creeper handle should not be flopping around. It's possible the yoke is worn so bad it won't engage into hi or low. Or the spirol pin in the handle holding the yoke in place could be broken. You need to inspect the creeper gear. Use the link to the manual Jonathan supplied, the info you're looking for starts on page 2-38

Congrats on the purchase. Hopefully you get the issue figured out.
I'm guessing the creeper is causing the issue as well.
As for getting parts up here in Canada, I've had no problems ordering from the vendors on this site.
I'm guessing this was the one from Sylvan Lake on Kijiji. From the few pictures that they had it looked really clean!

Yup that's the one! I was actually impressed at the shape it was in, and it came with the tiller/deck/ snowblower so I think I got a decent deal regardless of the issues it has!
Where do you normally order your parts from, since I'm guessing you're from Alberta aswell lol

Ya it had been tempting me for a while but it was a bit of a drive to go take a look at it.
I've ordered stuff from the sponsors at the top of the site and ebay. Pretty much everything has to come from the USA so shipping and the exchange rate sucks but it's better than nothing.

Well I was messing around with it today and got it to move! With lots of grinding... But it's a start! Haven't had time to rip into it yet, but I can now confirm 100% that it's a creeper issue.

A little movement is good but you best tear that diff apart and find the problem, it might just be a shift fork.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
