Ok.....How tall is "any real mowing grass" you are dealing with??

Reason I ask is because its a pretty simple design and operation....not too much can go wrong and that can go wrong has been stated...

Is grass building up under the spindle covers???
Is the belt routed correctly through the mule drive??
Positive the V is not inverted in any of the turns??
Oil leaks on any of the pulleys??

Sorry for the long reply, I didnt get a chance to mess with this for a few months.

Still working on her. my rubber gas tank gromet for the fuel feed disintegrated the other day so I ordered some, but now looking at the gromet I ordered, it appears to be different.

I did go pull the deck apart. it is a 44a.

Spindle bearings arent new, but they arent horrible for how old itr is, still tight with a little wear. Turning the lower deck is pretty easy, slighty resistance, but im guessing thats the belt.

You guys were right on my pulley, its shot, really rusted up and rough, and also a slight bend in one spot.

I would like to find a carb rebuild kit for the ol girl but that is proving to be a pain in the ass. 4747801 were the only numbers on the carb I could find and thats not bringing up anything. I need to stop running e10 in the ol thing as it coroded the brass pretty good.

So what is the proper belt for a 1250 with a 44a deck?

I also need to rebuild the electric pto, she is seized up now. I have the napa part numbers written down somewhere for the bearing.

Anyone know where I can buy a new pulley, ot good used one for a 44a?

Is that the right size belt? Looks too wide. Should be 3/8 in. IIRC.

Belt should be a IH-117465-C1. Carb kit should be a KH-25-757-02 with a Kohler carb or a KH-25-757-11-S if it has a Walbro.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
