Why not??
Because that part number is made for Magneto ignition. Not a point ignition. You likely used a different part number.

I put a switch out of a 1086 in my quietline. I mostly did this because at the time I was working at an IH dealer and they had one in stock. I also like the IH key better. The switch is a little bigger so you have to make the hole in the dash tower larger but that was not a problem for me. This is just what I did and it worked for me.

The difference is a magneto needs to power to run, but you ground it to kill the engine. A point system needs B+ power. The mag style ign switch, the terminal for ignition ground the M terminal to the base when turned off.

No, I do not have the part number. Feel free to pull the CC part number and cross it, or have a parts guy (actually) do his job and find you one.

I actually did spend the time and look through the Ignition Switch section of the Primeline catalog. There is NO direct (drop in) replacement for the IH-61524-C3 Switch. I did see a switch that would possible work, but what was posted as far as data, wasn't totally clear.
