Looks really nice!! Please Post some pictures of the whole tractor!

I really like the dark color of the decals... where did you get them? NOS cub cadet?

Got the decal on today and installed the headlamps.
Texture showed through pretty good,I think although not quite like the original decals. I'm happy with it.

Charles, are you sure those are the correct ones? Tractor looks great, nice and clean too.
I have a set that kind of looks like those but I'm pretty sure they are not like the original(pic on the left). I have a few 82's with the original decals but they are not in great shape and have a deep textured finish like the pic on the right. Is that simulated leather?

Oak they are NOS that came from a dealer. They have the part # on them. I also have a set for an 1872 that are NOS and similar. I also have several supers with the leather look decals too. I am not sure they originally looked like that or if they got like that over time. These NOS decals may have been made by a different vender that Cub Cadet changed to along the way not sure. As you can see the color is different too. I am positive that these are Cub Cadet parts. I think that somewhere along the way Cub changed their source for the decals.

I believe that deep leather texture look is from age. I've purchased some hood decals straight from cub several years ago and they were the light blue. I agree that cub probably used a couple different suppliers.

Here are some pics of the entire tractor with the new decals and a pic of the 1772 with it's original decals that now have the textured surface.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
