When I was around 10-12yrs old I would clean out my neighbors horse barn and one day the owner told me to take a couple loads of manure down the road about half mile to his moms garden with a little MTD LT and an average size dump cart (10cu ft) so i made my little brother bout year and half younger than me and owners daughter same age as my brother ride on cart to help me dump and so she could put her grandmas dog up, any way, i didnt feel we were going fast enough so i put it into nuetral well that load of horse shi! pushed us alot faster than we wanted to be going and the brakes did not work so when ewe got down the hill i cranked the wheel into her lawn and the cart went right over, luckily no body was hurt but the kids got covered in horse shi! !! And i got my a@@ kicked because my old man just happened to be sitten on our front porch-right next door and seen the whole thing!!

Not exactly the pinnacle of safety, but my father used to tell me stories of haying in his younger days in our town, which is fairly hilly. They used a variety of different machines: a farmall M, a JD 50, a JD A, and a Ford 8n, which was his usual machine of choice. He liked it because it didn't have a lot of rolling resistance or gear reduction, so on the downhills he could stomp on the clutch and get rolling really fast. Good thing that's a fairly low machine, and that one must have tracked pretty straight or I likely wouldn't ever have come to be!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
