Yep. I think they had plans of reaching up and pushing on the carb linkage and getting more speed. That's why I gave them the flywheel warning.
KIDS!!! ( not that I wouldn't have tried it when I was a kid)

tell them to put more air in the rear tires to get them a little bigger. then unhook the trailer, that's wind drag. bump the governor up to 4000 and giver heck to crack the 10 mph

Put more air in the front tires too, lessen the rolling resistance. I think they need to draft one behind the other to split the drag. Make sure they duck down behind the steering wheel. Hurry! Before they take the thing away!

Y'all are forgetting the crucial racing stripe! That's good for at least 1/2mph!

if you don't have one of these on the hood to drastically improve the aerodynamics of said tractor it's all in vain.

makes me think of The Office episode where they are out front seeing who can run the fastest clocked by one of those .... a car goes by when Micheal tries it and he thinks he ran 30mph.... man that show was the best.

I pumped up the tires. I told them to try that first. One change at a time

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
