I've seen it also, but I try to think the positive about ppl., not the negative.
It is really hard to express true meaning via typed words.
The other day a brand new first time poster asked about a LT and helpful ppl here told him it was not the best model as it had a trail of problems to stay away from it.
How well meaning/helpful we are.
But I felt sorry for him kind of, as I didn't see where anyone welcomed him
to the forum(maybe I missed it) and I know how humans have enthusiasm for a "NEW" to them something.
Please understand here, I'm not condemning anyone, just giving a simple example.
We all give a hell of a lot our time and trouble helping people we know we will never see.
I have a hard time myself talking to my wife via typed word, especially with word spell correct and cell/smart phones which I don't have.
( computer gives me a hard enough time)
I never learned to type, all my posts are one finger.
But we all enjoy helping people and are rewarded by it.
Many times I read what I posted, and the next day, think boy that could have been worded better or I hope it was not taken the wrong way.
such is life, we try and we error because we are human.

Jeff, I agree. BUT, a wise person once told me, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.........".

Guys, we see this come up at least a couple times a month. We are all adults and most things should be handled in private via PM's, emails, phone calls. I think it's a very bigger problem then most people think/know about. You have to have thick skin in life, especially on a forum, but the constant bashing and ridiculing finally gets to a person. I know alot of members here have had this happen to them on the public forum and in private via PM's, myself included.

If this happens to anyone via the open forum or via PM's and you feel you can't deal with it on your own, don't sit back and let it happen. PM Roland directly with the thread and details. OCC is a great forum with a ton of great people and info here but we can't let one bad apple spoil the bunch guys.

I really have got to agree with Jeff, sometimes I get hopping mad and shout at my computer because someone refuses to take good advice and/or wants to argue about the responses that they get.

This thread is about a problem that is WAY bigger than that, it is about the belligerent, obnoxious, condescending attitude that so many undeserving members here get. It has exactly no place on the forum.

I too support the views of IHCadetCollector.

I have had some attitude come my way here, but I handle it in my own way, call it for what it is then get over it. People here are not paid for their time, and their is no telling if the intent is to belittle or agitate. I agree emotions are hard to convey through type.
I feel people on here are some of the most helpfull I have found on the web, but we are not emotionless machines, I feel we should let people be who and how they are as long as the intention is to help the posters.

My advice/thoughts: it is (most of the time) all in how you interpret things. If you read a post looking for attitude rather than the answer within to what you asked, you'll find attitude.

Some people come across as rude or condescending when in fact they mean not to. To me, attitude in posts is, most of the time, as much the reader as it is the poster. I guess what I'm trying to say is you'll only get offended or upset by a post if you let yourself. It's the internet, people! Even if something is condescending or rude, why bother getting upset about it? I've been down that road, getting my feathers in a tizzy about every little thing but you know what it got me? Angry. And do you know what THAT got me? Jack and squat. Unless someone is specifically calling you out, let it go. Getting upset ain't gonna change a thing and will only serve to make YOU miserable.

We're here to convey information, facts, how-to-fix-it's, not start drama with other members. If you have a problem with someone, take it up with them, not in a thread in a public area.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go back to watching out the window for much anticipated green grass to grow
