You have replaced ingition parts rebuilt carb and the miss is still there. So I would check the valves next. Years a go when gas was cheep and hp was king. Had an engine that could not find the miss in untill l hit the pistion with the intake valve. Releasing all the important fluids. Follow by the $$$. So now its check compression after other have been checked

The light was steady when I timed the engine.
The condenser is new. I will get a new plug and wire. I tried another coil with no change. I'm only leaning towards carb because it's the one part of the system that I don't fully understand how to conquer just yet. I know it's a simple device, but I feel like I'm going in circles with it. thanks, I'll get the video asap

Is your throttle shaft tight? Mine blubbered off idle when the throttle needed new bushings.

Put piston at TDC on power stroke remove plug add air check for air leak out intake or exhaust leak poor compression out engine breather rings not sealed compression test

My 149 had something similar happen to it after I rebuilt and re-adjusted the carb settings.....and after new piston, rings and removal of the balance gear. Drove me bananas, too. Come to find out it was a little arc between the condenser and engine tin. As soon as you heard the "miss", you could see the arc. I haven't read where anyone stated this yet and hope that is all it is for you, too---simple fix.
