As soon as Ryan (Jimbob) gets them resized for me, I made diagrams of the PTO circuit in all 3 stages. Off, Start, On. Color coded them so it helps. Sorry, I don't know how to resize pics.... so Ryan is gonna send them back BIGGER. Hang tight! Pics to come.

If it's your bearing going out you can replace it. Just search for "6206" in the search box. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I should say, I agree. Sounds like your bearings are going out. But, if you don't have power to the clutch when you should...... you may have a wiring issue. I'm still trying to get the pics. We're having "technical difficulties".

Ok. First off, I will apologize for the quality of the pics. Best we could do so quickly. If you click on them, they link to a larger pic you can read better..... Kind of. At least you can zoom in.
1864 Complete Wiring: 1864 PTO.jpg For the Next 3 pics, I have eliminated all circuits besides the PTO. All switches are as follows: Key on. Reverse switch NOT activated (closed). Seat switch closed (sitting in the seat). PTO switch will be described. Also note: the seat switch is a dual switch. It contains a N/O switch for the PTO and N/C switch for the "Run" circuit. On this machine, you have to either be sitting in the seat, or the brake has to be set to get off the machine. It may be bypassed on yours. Brake switch is also a dual switch. We are only concerned with the seat switch for the PTO circuit. PTO Switch "OFF": 1864pto OFF.jpg PTO Switch in "Start": 1864 PTO Start.jpg PTO Switch "On": 1864 PTO ON.jpg Like mentioned, sounds like you have a bearing failure and an electrical problem. NOTE: To test the PTO circuit, you can do it with the engine off, key on, then place something in the seat heavy enough to activate the seat switch. Then can test. Hope this helps and good luck.

Wow, the diagrams are great. I noticed the reverse micro switch is missing the lever part to the switch, it is somewhat broken it seems. That may be where my electrical issue is. Hopefully I can find time this weekend to dig into the bearing and the wiring. Thanks again for all the help. This site is amazing. Sure makes repairs a lot easier.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
