You can check and see if the valve is replaceable, but I've not seen one that was. Does it have a rubber tip?

I'd rather one stick closed than open..... less messy, more frustrating. LOL.

If it is sticking closed and the engine dies, a simple tap on the side of the bowl with a screwdriver handle will free it.

Alright, well....... then go ahead and get another carb. Either a used one (Kohler/Carter) and rebuild it, or ebay..... whichever you want.

Think you meant "bear". LOL

Check with the sponsors at the top, or place an ad in the "Wanted" section.

Call Kustom L&G in Minerva OH.(330-868-7875) They have the best aftermarket carb, around 80$. He works with the Chinese trying to get them right. Tell him a guy in Cambridge Oh told you. I bought an engine kit from them, He has better instructions and sends a better plug and points than the other guy. Mike

There should be a carb rebuild kit for a Walbro carb. Are you dipping your carb in a carb cleaning solution?

There should be some numbers on the carb to tell you what carb you have. It sounds like you have the wrong carb rebuild kit.

Where are you getting your parts?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
