Didn't mean to get you riled up Brian. I'm afraid of anymore comments about my choice of motor/truck will further fuel the debate, so I'll bow out of this one. Like I said, didn't mean to stir trouble. I was just razzn more than anything. Oh, I know the Powerstroke is a DI.... but it still has glow plugs, LOL.

Brian I'm sure Jon was referring to the Duramax. HEUI is a good system if you do your maintenance. 7.3 is a great motor! 6.0 is good after a $4K bulletproofing. I just like inlines. Maybe a 2 stroke Detroit one day, just cause they sound cool!

Edit: He beat me! Guess I wasn't refreshed.

An ol' 2 stroke Detroit. Not many people remember, or are willing to work on them anymore. I worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad on several as I was the only one who knew anything about them. And I'm not old by any stretch of the word!! LOL. Seriously, they called the injection supplier (place that rebuilds my pumps and injectors) I use and asked who they recommended to work on them. They suggested me. I was impressed as my injection supplier is around 100 miles from me. I went as far away as Lafayette, Indiana to work on them. After that trip they never called me again though. I found out later the big boss man didn't like me cause I made him look like a fool 3 times in a row. (He couldn't figure out what was wrong and I did in less time than it took me to drive to any of the service calls I made for them.) But, they paid and it was good while it lasted!!

Yes, when I posted that I was referring to the Duramax. But it did sound like I was talking about both.

It's all good I'm not riled up, but am diehard red! Have the IH emblem tattooed the n my on my left arm ! Lol what's crazy that me is how high priced the parts are for the stuff and how it's built. Glow plugs under the valve covers, jezzzz! Wish they were like the old 6.9 . And drive by wire? Dont like that either! wish it had low voltage glow plugs and a button like our old 656 diesel had.

Oh, drive by wire isn't so bad...... For idiot operators

I don't like it because it just makes repairs so high, and it limits you (the operators) control. If it didn't have the built in over-ride's it wouldn't be so bad. It's old technology anyway. The Chevy diesels used it back in 95. (I think that was the year it started.....)

FWIW, the only reason we have all this "technology" is to limit emissions. We have the good ol' EPA to thank for that. Otherwise we would all be driving cheaper and better stuff. But, lets not go there.

I will say, the rest of the truck has been rebuilt at least twice, LOL! I rebuild the driveline about every 100K. Front end at least 2X. Never a rear end. Trans once, but it's due again. The ol' Dodge takes a lick'n and keeps on tick'n!
Hey J-Mech, you didn't sell that 96 to a guy in Ohio did you. I met a guy that went west about that time and bought one for a puller project. Mike

No, I sold it to a local guy. Its still sitting as far as I know. I blew the clutch on it. I had dumped so much money in that truck, I was done. I bought the truck in southern Illinois but it had come from Oklahoma. It was wore out when I got it. I had rebuilt the trans, transfer case, brakes and front suspension, engine bottom end and timing cover, driveline..... I had cranked it up to about 325 HP and loved to drive it. But it was a cab chassis truck and had a short flatbed on it. Chassis was too short for any bed without stretching the frame. I wanted either a truck bed or utility bed, but didn't want to stretch the frame. So, when I blew the clutch I traded it for a trailer. I guess I never said :96 3500 Dodge diesel, 5 speed (NV4500), 4X4, dually. I added 4 flood lights on the rear for working, KC Daylighters for the front. The old style, not the new cheapos. Farmhand front bumper/brushgaurd. Dual exhaust with chrome tips ran out at a 45 on the corners of the bed. Like I said, awesome truck, but it wasn't what I wanted, so it went down the road.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
