I started messing with cubs in 1996 when I built my house. I bought a brand new Crapsman and after replacing the same spindle several times I spotted a 1100 on the side of the road. I later ended up trading that Crapsman for a dual stick 1650.

Since then I've bought, sold, traded well over a 100 of them (not counting the other brands). The most I had at one time was 46, mostly narrow and wide frames. People started showing up at the house asking if I wanted them.

Now I keep it to less than 20 including parts machines, trying to keep the ones I'm really fond of. None of them are really nice, most need work. All of the really nice ones were sold over the years. The wife still complains but I just remind her I can always buy more

I am not worthy! I have never owned one!

That's why I am here. I like the narrow frames. Wife is putting the kibosh on it, but I am holding firm! They are cool tractors! I NEED one! haha I had a JD 112 with a K241 & an old Yanmar YM155d. Sold 'em both & need a project. I have this Jeep(see pic) that I rescued from the scrap yard, but I want a tractor to work on. Great site...I will have one soon. Gear drive preferably.

I've only owned 1, and I'm ok with that. It keeps me happy. I'd like to own an O some day, but it's not extremely necessary to have one right now. (hard to free up space and $$ for it.)

Tell your wife to shut her yap. If you have a job and the bills are paid there no reason not to have a hobby, I gave mine a choice between tractors or drugs so now I get to drag home whatever I want.

We need to get you one soon!! The wife will just have to get used to it, but in NY, once you fit it with a blade or snow blower she will gain a new appreciation for it. Let me know if you need some soft doors or topper for that Jeep.

Oh, I've had twenty some cubs and need to thin the herd sometime...I've lost count of how many 129's I have had, 4 O's, 2 red 782's, 2 123's, 73, 104, 106, 149, 1200, 1000, 2 169's, 125, 126, zero turn, ....maybe missed one or two?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
