Its 2014 so i had to adjust my figures, 5 bucks doesnt buy anything anymore. I remember back when i started driving, 10 bucks could get me enough gas to drive around all night plus buy dinner and a pack of smokes.

It was about the same when I started driving and I'm 31. Maybe 15 bucks if I was eating dinner.

Yea im 31 also, gas was about 79 cents a gallon. I can only imagine how the old timers feel, they probably remember when it was a nickel.

I about FREAKED OUT when gas hit 75 cents a gallon. Didn't know how I would ever survive...

I also SWORE I would quit smoking when cigarettes got to 75 cents a pack, but that hasn't happened yet (quitting that is).

If your 31 and bought gas for $.79, I want to know where. I'm older than you and I never bought gas for less than about $.90.

The year i got my license it was between 79 and 85 cents depending on the gas station, at the end of that summer it started going up and hasn't stopped since.
