Hello, i think the reverse relay on a 1050 is next to the shifter. Take off the center cover. Mike

No it isn't. That is the reverse switch. Relay is where I stated it is.

Mike, the blades only spin when the PTO is engaged. The bearing is not locked up. The relay for the PTO is located on the left side on of the instrument panel down low. There is another relay under the gear box cover, I take it this is the reverse lockout, how does that play into the PTO engagement. I could always mow in reverse. How do I eliminate the relay to test the PTO switch or vice versa? Each part is $50, but would rather buy only what I need. Thanks for the help

Looking at the diagram Roland sent, there are multiple relays involved. Looking at the parts diagram, what does this relay control 925-0894? This is the one that is attached on the left side of the instrument pedestal.

There is only ONE relay (reverse relay) and two safety switches (Seat SW & Reverse SW), and obviously the PTO engagement SW, in the PTO Circuit

If you have a wiring diagram, then trace the circuit. You should be able to see how it works. If you don't understand the diagram, then someone will explain it.

You don't really eliminate them to test, you use a test light or a meter to see if each component is working. Do you own either?

As Roland said. No, there is only one. The rest are switches.


You have been given a diagram. You said you have been looking in the parts book. If you read the part descriptions, you will see the name of the parts. It should be obvious by description that there is only one relay in the circuit. Like I said, read through it, it's a pretty basic relay circuit. If you still don't understand, then I or someone will explain.

Thanks guys, I think the problem was with the reverse switch. The connection was corroded a good cleaning and it seems to be working. Now my belt snapped, so I have to get a new one before I really test it out.
