Stay tuned.
I've always trusted your word and respected your opinion, so if you say it is nice and new to you, then that is good enough for me buddy. I'll look forward to seeing what you've recently acquired. Get some good shots for us...

Trust my word... Respect my opinion??? You may want to seek professional help.

On a little more serious note... Please keep in mind that when I say "pretty nice" This is just a "survivor" with a respectable amount of original paint left on it and very few missing parts. It isn't a trailer Queen or anything like that.

Yes, more than two or three pounds. (I remember who said that, but I don't remember where he was when he said it)

BTW, FWIW, Darrell knows EXACTLY how heavy it is... He helped me load it!

Thank you Darrell!

Ok, I finally got some pictures to prove that it DID happen.

I was looking for a Wide Frame hydro to put my FEL on and was offered this 149 for what I thought was a reasonable price from a fellow member (Thanks Darrell). This one ended up being much nicer than many of my other Wide Frames so I had to pick one from the heard to put the loader on.

It had a couple of minor electrical problems, but I think they're all squared away now. The engine runs really well with no smoke and there are NO worn spots in the trunion.

One of the things that really impressed me was how clean it is! There doesn't appear to be any grease or other crud down in the frame rails and even the transmission is really clean.

I had a junky old 48" deck that I put on it and it turns out to be a pretty good grass cutter.

I know that to many of you, this is just another old 149... but nice running, nice driving, good looking Cubs are something of a rarity around here, so I'm very pleased with this one.

Thank you all for your patience with me in getting a picture posted and finishing this thread out.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
