Anybody wonder why they changed HyTran? To make it cheaper. The old stuff is gold.

Probably so that it works better with power-shift transmissions. IH never had a power-shift.

Warm it up, jack up the rear, remove the drain plug at the bottom near the front of the trans case with a pan that will hold 2 gals. Remove the filter. Replace the filter and fluid. You fill through the dipstick tube under the seat.

It's not as bad as I originally thought, apparently dad had the fluid changed once. The filter has wrote on it 645 hours 04/2006. The hour meter now shows 852 hours and it's only 8 years later.
