The labor of love....You are going to take a tractor that has been well used and turn it into a dependable tractor that can be used well! Keep up the great work buddy!
Looks like this will be a great thread to follow, Cub Cadet 123

Will you be changing the motor mounts, doing the engine cradle modification and adjusting the steering, if necessary?

Haven't pulled the engine out yet, but did make progress. The wiring harness is out. The lighting and pto part of the harness are cobbled up. Easy fix. Got the dash and tower off.
The shroud with the weather strip is a little damage. Nothing I can't fix. ![]() Made sure to take a picture of the linkages. And the cool ground wire. ![]() Wiring harness out, and dash off. ![]() ![]() Damage on the bottom of the tower that looks to have been repaired before. I will fix this with my mig. ![]() At the point now where I need to decide if i'm going to split the tractor or not. The rear is leaking, so I'm going to pressure wash it so I can get a good look at where it is coming from. More to come... |

You are well along the way to a nice tractor! Love those new side panels. The rear end doesn't look too bad. I've see a LOT worse!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
