My 126 and 1650 needed much attention when I bought them - but lots of good stuff in those tractors worth saving!

Yeah me too. Agreed with the 38 deck although that's what my 800 came with but probably because of the hp rating. I would absolutely save that and make it quiet again, side panels, shielding, the whole. I have a muffler for it, pm me if interested, good score

I looked at that plate bud sadly it is not readable.

If the parts present themselves for a decent price I will probably "restore" its quietline goodness but for now I need to work on that muffler. I'm working on the house and that's taking all of my money at the moment but soon enough I will be on this guy.

Throw a little bigger muffler on her and call it good. All the front air box does is rattle and keep the hood a little cooler. The side panels really don't make much difference and if the don't fit perfect the rattle and make more noise. Someone changed the air filter assembly on your's so the side panel won't even fit on that side.

Find a good deck, throw it on and go! Work on restoring it when you have time if you want.

Uh oh

Bought this for parts. Its got alot of better parts on it, I'll probably put it back together for the most part. Had I bought it a week earlier it would have been 100% intact but the guy tried to install the motor in something else then gave up. I really only bought it for the deck and that turned out to be junk. Spindles locked and the deck rusted to hell. But I got my mule drive, side panels, muffler and housing and PTO! I figured I would spend a mint on all that. The 12hp that came with it is super clean and spins over. Looks like a wire harness melt down is what caused this to stop running. After I take off it what I want I will still have enough to have a roller so I'll put it back together and sell it.

I agree with everyone else. Xtreme Motorworks sells a good reproduction muffler box, and get the correct muffler for the tractor. I would bet that Chris Westfall would have a mower deck, mule drive and a correct air cleaner assembly with an air tube. Any Cub Cadet Dealer, as listed above can get you a motor mount set.

That tractor has a lot going for it. Fix it up. You'll love it. There are manuals, wiring diagrams and lots and lots of help here. You'll have a great time with it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
