Question 129 Ported Hydro??

Good friend of mine has been watching me work on my cubs. Getting the 125 going, adding the cab and other work I've done over the last year or so. Anyway, he has a 129 that the motor is down on and I think that he may have contracted "Yellow Fever". He is getting it dug out of the corner and asked me to help him find some attachments for it. He is kind of wanting to put hydraulic lift on it.

So, here's the question:
Did all the 129's come out with a ported pump? I haven't went to look at the tractor yet, and thought someone might know. Checked the parts book, it only lists one hydrostat for it, so I'm assuming they all were. Can anyone confirm?

It was an option that was available on the 129, but it was not standard on it. That is what I was told on this forum about 2 years ago. I put a ported 149 rear end in a 129 and set it up with hydraulic lift, then sold it.

Yep Jonathon,
You'll have to find a ported pump. The 129's came from the factory without a ported hydro. Only the 149 and 169 came with a ported hydro. Sounds like a neat project. You'll have to keep us posted.

Well.... told him to pull the tunnel and send me pics. Or I'll just go look at it. Maybe we'll get lucky. Bid on a hydraulic set-up on E-pay..... but apparently someone want's it worse. I wasn't bidding any higher. I'm not going to be one of the fools we talk about in the other threads paying ridiculous prices. Anyway, I'll keep you guys posted. He wants a tiller. Found a nice one on CL, if it's still for sale. You know those C-list ads can be..... still posted, but item sold weeks ago.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
