If the price is right, I'd go for it. Maybe you don't moldboard plow with it, but might make a dandy mowing machine and cart puller.

Hey guys, I've got an 1100 that I've been messing around with. Check out my album. It's a neat little tractor, but it sure is tough to find someone who wants to work on the motors, and a new block?-forget it! I've done all the work on it myself except for the motor bore and rebuild (that blew the budget!!). I do wish it had a solid driveline, however the set-up is quite unique. I mostly bought mine to mow with and possibly tote a trailer around for yard projects, so It should work just fine for that. I haven't finished my refurb yet, life got in the way. Still have to complete the mower deck and then ensure the PTO is working as it should. I'm always looking for other 1100 owners to share and exchange info with since they are such a scarce, unpopular little tractor. Exact same frame and body as the other QL's of its era.

I just read up some on this model, the 1100 did not come with side panels like its quiet line siblings did.

True, it did not come with side panels, but they would fit. It even has the factory holes for them to mount to. It was a budget tractor, so they deleted the panels.

No, I never did get the 1100. I've run out of room. Until I get my new workshop built (within a year I hope) I can't take on any new tractors. Even then, I'm not sure I'd go for the 1100 due to the different drive train. I think my next tractor would be a 128 if I can find a decent one. I'm thinking of selling my 123 that I fixed up a couple years ago to make room for "Just One More."

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
