So, you are saying, with the Blue Wire off the V/R, as soon as you rotate the Ignition Switch from off to on, the S/G is energized...??? Right...???

Yes that's right.. So I got to play a little more tonight.. Ohmed the old switch out and it was working right. Removed the switch in it and it was newer and still had writing on the back for bat, ign and st. Traced wires from ign and solenoid to plug for switch and found the ign and start wires swapped.. Swapped them in the plug, put the switch back in and turned it over and it turned over when the key was turned to start and stopped when turned back to run.. Checked to see if it was firing, added some gas and with a little choke, it fired right up.. Hydro works, pto looks like it will work, it charges, now to get the electric lift and lights to work, tires to hold air and a seat and it should be a good back up mower after a tune up and fluid change..
Thanks for all you help!! Stuart

Hi all,
I have another question now.. On the electric lift, there are two wires that go to the lift motor and on my tractor there is a blue wire that comes from the key switch and a white wire that I think goes to ground. Where do these plug into the lift switch? Thanks, Stuart

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
