Man that is a nice 73 Lew. Interesting that with all the cubs youve got that's the first 73? Very cool, and super clean plus the creeper. Wish mine was that nice when I got it. I think I got mine for a "Lew price" but then again, maybe not. It's sweet though, wish I had the "transfer case" option

I had a chance last year to get one but it was not for a Lew price..
still looking for a 169 and 982 to finish the IH built garden tractors

Didn't have much time to work on the 73 today, too busy rearranging the cubs for winter duty.

Thanks ya'll

Changed out the carb, turns out to be a Walbro carb he put on.Put a new rebuilt Kohler on it and runs like, like a,how can I describe the sensation... like eating a Klondike bar,MMMMM

I dug into the transfer case issue today.I noticed it was missing the brake rod going to the rear, crazy P.O.mod.
It seems there is a sheared spiral pin in front of the creeper. So I will remove the clutch and refurbish it with new parts and be done with it.
It is a Keeper

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
