Good find!! I had one tractor that had to have the wheel cap re-installed every time you used it.

The machine looked naked when the cap was off.

Acecil,one thing is for sure I could never get so lucky as to find an O.E. so this is what I came up with.I took the center cap from a 106 and modified it a little bit and got me a decal off e-bay and this is how it turned out.Someday persistence should pay off and Ill get me an O.E. cap!!!!!!!!

My 1871 steering cap had some problems. The emblem in the center was off-center at the glue holding it on had become gooey. I was able to lift it off, then used some headlight lens-restorer compound to make it clear again. I reattached the center emblem after removing the gooey glue residue with some clear RTV. After everything dried, I put some car wax on it to protect it.

Great job on the cap! You can't find the decal on Ebay now. I'd love to find some to keep around.

The Cap looks Good Acecil, I lost one the last time I was cutting with my 1772, I felt as naked as the tractor looked! I HAD to get a replacement on eBay, Around here you can't let your steering nut show!!
