Well this one kinda fell in my lap Lew and was about a mile away from my house. Traded a bunch of stuff and some cash for it. Guy is a scrapper but saves old tractors and has a roper and a couple suburbans. Been working on getting it for a few months. Old cubs aren't as plentiful down here so I have to rely on you PA guys to send me some parts down. All in all I'm happy with it and really like it with the options.

Thanks Allen, get in touch with me if you come back to FL. I'd like to go to Stews place again, so many to see there it takes going twice to see it all!

What's your plans for attachments?
Wouldn't be running it without hy-tran though, can't think that would be good for the pump.
Not sure about rear attachments since this part is new to me but I'm psyched to see what's out there, maybe a tiller or something. I'm going to be in the implement section for a while to learn what to look for. And yeah, I didn't run it for long at all just wanted to see if it ran, looks like its been years.

Well just a small update. Made a rear cover gasket and filled with hytran, and changed the filter which was the original yellow IH filter. It drives well but just takes off if you don't hold on the hydro lever. I'm assuming this is the infamous trunion repair that I've read a lot about here. Still smokes after I ran it quite a bit but smoking less and less so I'm optimistic, ran a lot of MMO through it. Has a governor issue with no throttle control above idle and it kinda runs away. Replaced and tightened a bunch of loose and missing bolts, also swapped the S/G from my in pieces 73 and it spins over a whole lot better but not charging still. Got a few more things to do to it and probably pull the motor soon because of the rear pulley that runs the hydraulic pump is a little loose and vibrates bad. I took a little break from all of the annoying little things that I "have" to do on it and found 12 volts to both headlamps but neither of them worked so a small trip to local parts store and grabbed some bulbs, PB blastered the wing nuts and thankfully the studs didn't break, new eyeballs installed, check!

Thanks for the words guys. Took it for a ride tonight and things are looking ok. PTO clutch is working as it should which is a plus. Still a little bummed about 2 out of the three of my cubs are smokers but I will get to all of that. Nice to have this one running. RR tire opened up a big gash in it tonight and the dry rot has got the best of it. A buddy on here has a couple rear tires off of his O not being used so I am going to hopefully buy them from him. Set up the 73 frame and 42" deck shell on the sawhorses tonight so shifting gears a little bit.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
