Well, good news and bad news; the 102 got sold before I could get to it. However, the gentleman with the 100 emailed back and said if someone closer doesn't take the 100, we could set up a meeting place.
On a side note, not that I've caught the bug or anything, but on the way home last night, out of the corner of my eye, I saw an IH 982 sitting with a For Sale sign in someones yard. This thing was a beaty; Ag tires, wheel weights, 48" deck, 3 point hitch, PTO, and excellent shape. I called and left a message stating my interest haha This is going to be an expensive hobby! |

Hope the 100 works out. The 982 sounds like a nice one. Rear PTO and three point are the icing on the cake. If the seller knows what they've got, better grab the wallet..........

Hope you get the 100! The 982 would also be a great machine to have.

Finally got a call back from the gentleman with the 982, first off, it turns out I read wrong, it's a 682. Second, it's been re-powered with a 24hp Honda motor. Asking price?
Wait for it Almost there $3,000. Sorry, but it's just not worth it. He called it a collectors item and while I agree it's very nice, it's not worth that, to me at least. Oh well, onto the next goal I suppose. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
