Thanks!! Now to change the transaxle fluid, re-grease all the bearings and zerk fittings, get the mower blades sharpened, and ensure the PTO/mower deck is opperating well. I thought I got a pretty good deal on this thing (i still do), but boy, the parts list adds up quickly! At the end of the day though, i'd much rather have this old cub than a disposable plastic and tin riding mower...

As a positive note, if the PO's did not do things like

wack with hammer

wrap with baling wire

refill with wrong fluid

let fuel go stale

neglected to ____________(fill in the blank)

then these machines would not be available to those of us NEW OWNERS that are enjoying them now!!

The PO would still be running them!!
LOL!!! My Dad mostly, and probably 1 previous owner, did every single thing on that list to my 149. She's ready to mow right now though!

My exact thoughts as well... I'm fairly sure I'm over $2500 into my 1650 and I still think that's a bargain!

That's a fine looking 1100 you have. Hope she keeps serving you well!

Almost finished, degreased the undercarriage, new grease in all the zerks, (need to replace 3 bad zerk fittings. Just needs a little paint touch up and the mower deck blades sharpened....

I'm not very familiar with the 1100. Is that built on the same frame with the same fenders as the 1X8/1x9 and QL series? In other words, are the fenders interchangeable? (It looks like they are).

From what I've seen, it's the same as all the other QL series tractors. Differences are motor, drive shaft/belt, transaxle,and dashboard has no hour meter. Of course, the 1100 doesn't have side panels either, but it looks like they will fit.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
