Your 149 looks great. I like the looks of the 1x8/9 series the best of all. Maybe because I've had a 108 for 35 years...first loves..and all that. (did I say that??)
If nothing else, the 149 is WAY easier to maintain than the QL series tractors. If you have a lot of grass to mow and expect some maintenance, mow with the 149 and put the tiller on the 1450.

My 1650 is a nightmare to work on compared to my 149.

My neighbor has a newer crapsman w/ automatic transmission shift on the right rear fender that mows extremely slow and often runs terrible. I get a bit of self pride when I'm doing chores in all seasons with my 147 knowing it'll last much longer than his will.

I love my 149 so much that I bought a second one last winter! A beast for sure. I have to mow about an acre that looks kinda like that this spring. It probably hasn't been mowed in years. I hope I do as well as you did.

That is a VERY nice 149. I am hoping to get mine looking like that eventually. I just got to get another one to use while I have it tore down to restore. ...good reason to pick up another one right?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
