I like the line up of red tractors but the cub just has great lines and curves compared to the others. My first tractor i ever drove was a mid or late 60's wheel horse my father had, then i think in mid 70's got a used cub 126. Great job and write up on your repair.Dave

thanks for the great welcome and all the nice comments guys.......
the 682 is going to get some more tlc and if i do pull it down and give it a total rebuild, it will be done with the same detail as all my rebuilds. i havent mentioned yet that i work for one of the larger powder coating companies in the quad cities on the illinois side of the river. all my tractor builds to date are powder coated as much as possible, one of the horses i did almost all of the painted stuff on it in powder except the coil and regulator. if any of you guys are familiar with powder, it involves total dismantling and removal of all heat sensitive components, and makes for some interesting work when you start to get into some electrical components. heres some of the detail work on the k241 that went into that build. im not going to get that carried away with my future builds, i mainly wanted to see how much i could do in powder successfully. probably wont do an k series engine block again though as around the exhaust port hasnt held up to the heat. it hasn't peeled or bubbled in any way, just gone black within 1/4 to 1/2 inch of the port itself. i have the privilege of painting at work in my own time and not costing me a cent, so i can experiment on some of the stuff and if i dont like it, its no big deal to redo it.......

Nice looking machines there! I know a guy with a D-200 rotting in the ground wit a cat.0 finish mower and tiller but I just can't get him to sell

The camber is normal and was done to improve the steering. The hydros in the cubs are about bullet proof, other a few leaks I've never had any issues with one. Your going to like that cub

thanks for the info on the steering.....
the rotting in the ground thing really gets me. this was the case where i got this cub from, the father in law of the guy i got it from would hoard and never sell anything. a bunch of what he had was ruined from being out in the weather. then he passed and left the lot to his daughter and son in law to take care of. by then though, most of it was ruined..... i spent a whole day there looking through barns and fields and cant tell you how many kohler/onan/ small engines i came across that were just rusted together laying in the dirt.... all went for scrap along with a whole bunch of other machinery that was no good from being exposed to the elements. i know when i got the cub at least 4 full 40+ ft scrap containers had been taken out of there and he was no where near done. he kept a lot of the large tractors and still has a few gt's around and will sell them off. but it did the old man no good what so ever. and how many tractors and machinery over the years missed out on being saved because this guy wouldnt part with anything.......

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
