You got a pretty good eye for what goes with what! This Original looks very neat with the clamshell style fenders.

Thanks guys!
Glad you like it. We've been working on it for some time, fixing many of the little things that the previous owner learned to live with. Spent some time last night getting it charging properly and wound up putting a new bearing in the S/G. it worked okay, just REALLY loud! It originally had lights and I'm considering putting a set back on it. There are a few more things that we want to do to get it working like we want, and then it's time to take it all down and make it pretty! |

I've seen fenders like that on pullers and I think on an Allis-Chalmers.....but I don't know if they were stock since a puller owned the Allis....

Here's a few that show how I mounted them and a photo that I pulled from the 'net that shows a set of complete fenders so you can see the bottom part that I cut off. I cut them right where the foot pads meet the fender sides. The foot pads on my fenders were mangled pretty bad so cutting them off improved the property value, which is why I found mine pretty cheap. The way I understand it, they are for a JD 40 Standard. Hope this helps! |

...............now I have to add what it is about those style fenders. There is a IHCC 154 Lo Boy for sale just down the road. The Lo Boy just about has the same style fenders as your Original.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
