Thats a roll pin you have in there which is only one layer thick - if you look at the larger of my two pictures you'll see a coil pin is many layers - essentially making it solid- but actually more resistant to breaking than a solid.

That pin at the engine end is supposed to be a solid dowel pin, plus your coupler is worn out.

is that coupler ok to use for now as i dont have the 70 some dollers they want for a new one

My coupler looked similar to yours but worse, I took it off and had a friend weld it. Then used a round file to touch it up. I just use a grade 5 or grade 8 by 1/4 inch bolt with a fiber locking nut instead of a spring pin

ok i was wondering about having it welded what about a dive shaft that the hole is worn to the point it wont hold a pin in any more can it be welded

New shaft along with new or repaired coupler time.

the shaft on the tractor in the pic is just fine it is my other 127 that has the bad shaft and considering i got it from the scrap yard it dose not surprise me
