Thanks guys, I will look for the old Hydro hole in the dash when I see it in person. I only wanted $150 for the Go Cart, so I figured I couldn't go wrong with this swap even if it was a "Hybrid" tractor. And the mower should work like it was designed even though the rear may have been swapped right???????

The 147 would not have had the cast end 38in. deck, it is several tractors combined. should be fun to figure out.

A 14 HP gear drive would be awesome! Lots of power at the wheels.

As long as the conversion was done right it should function fine, It looks like it has a wide frame rear end looking at the shifter. I would look the clutch setup over and see how they put it together. Either way you can't go wrong for $150 as long as it runs.

That is kind of what I thought as well. Motor alone should be worth close that. If nothing else, it would make a good puller!!!! I can promise everyone this..... When I get it home, I will take alot of pictures of this thing so we can see what it is made up of. LOL!!!

Almost everything was interchangable on the narrowframes so, It would be easy to make the conversion. It would be harder to convert it the wrong way.

Yup, looks the same for the one on my 147. I'm still going with a 147 with a gear drive someone botched together. AKA franken-Cub.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
