Understood. I was offering an explanation for his curiosity about "another tractor" he had at one time - which most likely did have a dual output stator.

The maximum output of the S/G is 12V @ 15Amps. As long as the total light load is less than 10A, you should be good to go.

the #2 question i had was from the WF wiring diagram. the wire is purple then goes to yellow. what is the cylinder thing inbetween the purple and yellow wire if i the s/g maxes out at 15amps. why do i need to be less than 10amps? mike |

You have to have some reserve for the Ignition Coil. If you ran the lighting total to 15A, once you turned the lights on, you would kill the engine.

I don't have the wiring diagram in front of me, but it's likely the fuse that's been discussed at length recently in this thread.

Push the cylinder together (end to end) and twist. It should come apart, a fuse is inside.

Cub108, the cylinder thing between the purple and yellow wire is a symbol for the connection between the 2 wires. It's not a symbol for a fuse, if that's what you're wondering. There is one fuse, in the yellow wire running from the light switch to the charge indicator. I can take pics if you need them.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
