The Mag is no big deal, just no points to deal with. Just a glorified K301. Just gotta cut the frame to make it fit, sort of like a 147. It’s just going to be a toy.

I don't see that it belongs in the Mod section but if that's what the powers to be want to do go for it. Mac

I have seen some fantastic welding done on some super cubs. I mean the pullers, along the lines of the 147 and more! Just wanted to drop in and say that's going to be a nice re-power! Love the NF RF Cubs!

Just my 2 cents other than the fact that the NF's look cool they are a Royal PITA to work on. Guess I better get off my butt and get to work on it. The Sawzall is calling. ![]()

Got the frame cut today, engine fit to the frame and the braces about ready to weld in place. Making the braces out of ¼” so I doubt it will bend. I am also going to reinforce the bottom. Replaced all the tie rod ends with some that I salvaged from a 2000 series. Got the exhaust nipple free on the M12, gotta love Power Blaster. Soaked it for a couple days and it came free with no issues. Project is going better than expected so far.

Sam, you could make it like this one. I set up beside this guy at the Hickory Tractor show this summer. He used a 14hp twin Briggs (I think) and had it rigged up with a gas pedal. It ran great and would fly.
Whatever you do I'm sure it will be cool. I'll be watching the progress.

And yea, I know all to well about "no budget" ![]() I'll make a bet with you, how about a 6 pack, that when you get the motor mounted and start looking at it a light bulb in you head will turn on and the budget will begin ![]()

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
