If there are no seals in the housing when you install the bearing, you could probably get away with heating the housing in the oven for a little while and putting the bearing in the freezer. The bearing should just fall into the hole if done right. I've never tore a rear end apart so I have no clue if this would even be possible, but when I rebuilt a Honda TRX250R years ago, I replaced the bearings in the engine doing this and it worked better than I could ever have imagined.

Its thght on the shaft, the inned race is. When I say pressed on, you dont really need a press, you can tap it in place real lightly. But its just enough restance on the shaft that you cant get it out, so you have to pop the pinion shaft out. At least the last 3 I did I had too.

Guys thanks for the info. Don't think it will be a big deal to get it apart after some of the stuff I've worked on in the past.

You know me, if I can do it anyone can. I could do it beter if I had a nice barn or shop to work in. So whats the rent on a stall in your new shop?

I can just see you and I working in the same shop, before long Joe Allen would be with us and we wouldn't get anything done.
