Can't tell from the pictures, but it should already have one. It was an option on the 70 and 100 but I've only ever seen one that didn't have it.

That's good news. Here's another question (sorry, I know nothing about these tractors). I saw a picture of one with a front sickle mower on it. That's something I'd really like to have, are they very hard to find? I've searched ebay and craigslist and can't find squat.

Very nice 100, Stitch! The front mounted mowers, are very hard to find for the 100.

If you had to piece together the Cub you got you'd be close to what you paid.

Head lights
Creeper
Fenders
Hydraulic lift
IH 3 point
Sleeve hitch
New tires

Those things could add up to around $1000 right there, plus the cost of the tractor. Plus they're already installed and ready to work, so that's worth something too.

I can see the front PTO engagement lever just behind the hydraulic lift lever in the pic. So I'd say it does have the front PTO. The sleeve hitch adapter on the back looks to be a home made longer one that you can use even if you have the tiller gear box bolted on the back. May not be, but looks like it anyway.

Congratulations!! You'll love your "new to you" Cub Cadet 100.

I almost traded off my 100 this weekend, but changed my mind after getting it out of the building and driving it around. Glad I didn't trade it after all. Too much sentimental value to me.

Richard,
I work it when needed. I didn't build a trailer queen. It's not so much a restore as a refurb. Won't start that debate again.

Allen,
There might be something about them 70/100's
but there's just nothing like the Original.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
