Must be a fellow Michigandar....I seen those on CL. The guy wasn't asking much for um from what I remember...Thought about it myself..But I don't even have cub one done yet.

There may not be a true difference. Back then, there weren't always true standards for every production model. For example, some 12 hp kohlers had the dipstick mounted on top and some were on the LHS for the same model. mrcubcadet and I were looking at two originals from the same year with two different slightly different frames. Some 82 series had red rearends, while others had black ones and some were out of different materials (steel or aluminum). There are many other differences that can also be listed between the same models that others are aware of beyond what I have listed.

Big Thanks to darkminion_17, I swapped out my steering spindle and was able to put fertilizer down today using the 73.

As for the frame...Seems like there is no difference.
